The route from Arbaminch to Jinka is breathtaking passing through traditional villages like Konso a traditional Village inscribed on UNESCO. In the Mursi tribe’s village where the women put a clay disc into their kips to look beautiful. Yes the biggest the lip plate the most beautiful the woman is. We also visit tribe where they paint their body and face to look a colorful bird. On the way, we shall visit Markets. On this expedition, we will also meet members of the Hamers, Dassenech, doze, and other tribes. In their villages, you will get into the homesteads of the tribes and know them better.

In The Northern part we will visit The mysterious and famous Rock cut church of Lalibela, the Beautiful Mural Painting on Lake Tana that has been preserved for Half a century the centuries, the Royal Enclosure of Gonder( Gonder Cstels), that is named as the Camelot of Africa.

Day 1  Arbaminch  Arrival– Doze Village

Fly to Arbaminch In the morning then drive to Dorze village. The Dorze people are renowned for their weaving skills, music, dance, and beautiful elephant-shaped houses. They live in one of the most densely populated areas of the country. But they have maintained a lifestyle to coexist with the environment by practicing mixed farming, handicrafts, and weaving. Day 2 Arbamich –  Turmi

Drive to Turmi via Konso Village . Konso is a UNESCO World Heritage site for traditional Landscape terracing systems. With wonderful Walled Villages, Old community squares, Stone monuments, Generation poles, and carved statues. Konso has an immensely rich historical heritage and a Traditional Village atmosphere. Drive further crossing the Weito River, homes of Stemay tribes and Bena tribes to arrive in Turmi.

Day 3 Turmi – Omorate

After breakfast, Drive to Omorate  Home to the Dassanech tribe, on the border with Kenya along the Omo River and north of Lake Turkana. Cross the Omo River and visit their Mobile Village. Afterward, drive back to Turmi for lunch then drive to Jinka on the way you will have a chance of attending the bull Jumping ceremony of  Hamers Boy rites of Passage, Visit Hamer Village, or Visit the tribal market in Turmi on Market Day.

Day 4 Turmi- Excursion to Karo

In the morning After breakfast Drive to Korcho. One of the Village of Karo People. Karo tribes call themselves Karato. which means fish eaters. Their most famous for their artistic body painting. After visiting Karo Tribe we will back to Turmi for lunch. Afterward, we will visit Hamer Market, the Bull Jumping ceremony, or Hamer Village.

Day  5  Turmi – Jinka

In The Morning We drive to Jinka where we will stay for the night. Jinka is home to The Ari People. Although Ari tribes are more modern they are the biggest tribes in omo valley and they are still in their traditional villages. On our way if it is Market day we may stop at Dimkea, Key Afer or other small tribal Markets. We may see the Benna tribe, hammer tribe, and Tsemay tribes.

Day 6  Jinka-Mursi Fly Addis Ababa

After Eraly Morning breakfast we Drive to Mursi Village crossing Mago National Park. The Mursi tribes are the most well-known, because of the big lip plates of the Mursi women Which became the most Exotic Image of Omo Valley tribes. After spending time with the Mursi people we will drive back to Jinka for Lunch and transfer to the airport. Fly to Addis Ababa!

Day 7 Fly from Addis Ababa to Bahrdar

In the morning fly from Addis Ababa to Bahrdar.  Meet with our driver at the airport and transfer to your hotel.

We will take a boat ride on Lake Tana to Zegie Peninsula. Lake Tana is the source of the Blue Nile River and has refreshing air, birds, hippos, and dozens of islands. After arriving at Zegie Pensuela, we will take a 30-minute walk through the forest and coffee plantation, to reach the 14th-century called Ura Kidane Mihret monastery. It is famous for its Mural paintings and sacred religious manuscripts. At Lake Tana, we will try to find hippos. If it is a rainy season After lunch, we will drive 30 km south of Bahrdar on a dirt road that will lead us to witness the might of the Blue Nile Water Falls or called Tis Isat (Smoky Water). The rainy season is the best time to see it. You will be amazed by its majestic waterfall as it descends from its source, Lake Tana, to Sudan and Egypt.

Day 8 Drive Bhradr to Gondar

In the morning after breakfast, we drive to Gondar. The trip takes about 4 hours. In the afternoon we will visit the city of Gonder which includes the Royal Enclosure, with castles and buildings built by a succession of Ethiopian emperors beginning in the early 17th century. After lunch, we will visit the Debre Birhan Selassie (Trinity) Church, famous for its religious paintings and its iconic ceiling depicting many angels. We will drive through the center of Gonder to King Fasil’s pool.

Day 9  Gondar – Lalibela

Flight to Lalibela at the airport our team will meet you and take you to your Hotel. Start to visit the chucrhes of Lalibela. Lalibela is an Ethiopian saint and king, who built 11 magnificent churches carved into the volcanic rock in the 13th century. Lalibela wanted his church complex to be the second Jerusalem. Some of the churches are monolithic, which means that they are carved out of rock. The most famous is the church of St. George with its iconic cross shape.
